and can offer hardware support packages tailored to your requirements.The costs of supporting older hardware can often be prohibitive, and yet the reliability of Solaris means that provided the hardware remains reliable and supportable, then the application can remain financially viable. With the merger of Sun Microsystems and Oracle, there is now only a single level of second line support contract available, which differs from the old-school Sun contracts in several respects. Amongst other changes, support level is now dependant on your proximity to an Oracle service centre. Parts classified as CRU now need to be installed by the customer where previously the physical installation would have been covered by the contract, though Oracle are happy to make additional charges for installation of CRU parts on a T & M basis. So, if your hardware is nearing EOSL, if you can't justify the cost of providing First Line support, if the application doesn't warrant the cost of the support premium, then please call us to discuss alternative solutions.
